OWNER AND LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST

About me - Chloe Roberts  image
My name is Chloe Roberts, and I am the owner and principal practitioner at Fraser Coast Acupuncture.

In 2020, I relocated to the beautiful town of Hervey Bay after completing my Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I am a registered Acupuncturist and have also undertaken postgraduate studies in Japanese acupuncture—a modern, gentle adaptation of traditional methods.

I have dedicated many years to deepening my understanding of anatomy and physiology from both Eastern and Western medical perspectives, with the goal of supporting clients on their journey toward a healthier, happier, and pain-free life.
My passion for acupuncture began with my own health journey, where both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine played an integral role. This personal experience continues to inspire my commitment to helping others, particularly in the areas of chronic disease prevention, women’s health, and overall wellbeing.

In November 2020, I welcomed my daughter into the world. Pregnancy and birth gave me not only a deeper appreciation for the incredible capacity of the human body but also valuable insight into the symptoms and challenges of pregnancy. This experience has enriched my clinical work, where I support women through every stage of pregnancy, labour preparation, menstrual and fertility issues, and IVF journeys.

Before moving to Hervey Bay, I worked in a busy Brisbane clinic under the mentorship of an experienced practitioner. There, I gained extensive experience treating a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal pain, lower back pain, gastrointestinal concerns, migraines, anxiety, and more. Witnessing the profound impact of acupuncture in these areas further strengthened my dedication to this medicine.

At Fraser Coast Acupuncture, I place great importance on educating clients so they can make informed decisions about their health. Alongside tailored acupuncture treatments, I provide practical lifestyle advice to enhance outcomes and ensure long-lasting results.

What to expect in your initiaL CONSULTATION imageWhat to expect in your initiaL CONSULTATION imageWhat to expect in your initiaL CONSULTATION image
Booking an appointment for the first time can be daunting, especially when experiencing acupuncture for the first time, not everyone feels at ease when it comes to needles.

Upon your first treatment you will be greeted at the entry way, then an initial consult form will be filled out. This form runs through your basic details and medical history, with the addition of any medication or supplements you are currently taking. Once you have signed consent to the treatment we can begin.

The first part of the treatment you lay facing upwards. I ask in more details your medical history and establish what you want to gain from treatment. I explain from a Chinese medicine point of view how and why your condition has come about while also explaining from a western medicine approach, the physiology behind your condition, as well as life style advice to compliment the treatment; this is part of an individualised treatment plan.

Once the first half of the treatment is done I leave the room while you expose your back and flip over onto your front, once I return to the room we begin the second half of the treatment. My aim is to treat the "root cause" of the condition. For example if you are booking in for tight neck and shoulders, limiting range of motion to the head, I will be treating the cause of why it is contracting and causing pain, rather than simply triggering off the muscle for temporary relief, otherwise known as "dry needling".

Once the treatment is over, usually 1.5 hours for initial treatment and 1 hour thereafter, we will discuss treatments moving forward. I usually recommend 3 treatment to begin with as close together as possible. This gives me the ability to see how your body responds, as everybody is different. The goal is to get you the results as quickly as possible and to then be coming in for maintenance to manage the condition in future.

If you have any questions regarding treatment, please don't hesitate to call me on the number or email provided.
I hope to see you in clinic!
How many Acupuncture treatments will I need?

This depends largely on the condition, how your body responds and how long you’ve had the condition.
When people are looking to book an initial consultation with me I generally recommend booking 3 appointments, one week apart. This gives me an idea of how your body is responding to treatment, and we go from there.
The goal is to get relief from the first 3 treatments and adjust treatment frequency from that point. The intended outcome of this is to get on top of the pain/discomfort then space the appointments out, eventually moving onto a maintenance phase every 6-8 weeks.
If you’d like more information specific to your pain and condition feel free to contact me.
New clients image
For all new clients using the online booking system:
Please book ONE appointment a week for THREE weeks to get us started.

This allows me to see how your body responds to treatment and I find we get our best results when clustering the first 3 appointments together.

If we don't need them we can cancel them out, but better to have them in as there can be a long wait for appointments.
